Rekkruut: Cheaper, Easier, More Convenient than using a Recruitment Agency

09 Nov 2022

Leading on from our last blog post – where we discussed how our platform will be beneficial to freelance recruitment consultants – we will talk about how Rekkruut will benefit hiring managers in construction and technology in the UK.

We’ll start off with looking at the pros and cons of recruitment agencies – before uncovering how Rekkruut may be better suited to your recruitment needs.

We can’t argue that agencies are the bitter-sweet apple of the recruitment world. While they can act as an important, more efficient partner for a business, they can often have their downsides.

Now, before we dive into this blog post, it’s important to note that this post is all about how Rekkruut will benefit employers in the UK. If this doesn’t interest you, then you can leave – we won’t be offended!

What are the issues with recruitment agencies?

Perhaps you’re a manager at a company, and you’re under pressure to meet recruitment quotas – but at the same time you need to stay within a budget. Maybe you’re tired of getting constant spam from agencies, where they consistently try to contact you from unknown numbers or send irrelevant CVs over email. Or possibly you feel like agencies can be slow at filling your roles, where you can wait for weeks on end for any relevant candidates to be put forward for the job.

To summarise, here are a list of some of the potential problems when it comes to recruitment agencies:

  • More expensive than in-house recruitment
  • Lack of quality candidates
  • Constant spam mail
  • Persistent & pushy recruiters
  • Impersonal experiences
  • Slow replies

Even if you don’t face any of these issues, and you love using agencies –  we still believe Rekkruut can help you optimise your recruitment efficiency and improve your overall relationship with recruiters.

What are the benefits of recruitment agencies?

While so far we’ve discussed potential pain points of recruitment agencies, it’s not all doom and gloom – agencies are a far more effective and an easier alternative to in-house recruitment.

You might be comfortable with doing all your own recruitment as a boss, but recruitment consultants can help relieve the stress of the overall process. Here are some of the benefits of using agencies:

Advantage #1: Faster Hiring

Consultants are great because they can interview candidates for you, and they often have a readily accessible database of workers who may be suitable for your roles. Recruiters are trained to have constant communication with candidates associated to their specialised industry.

Advantage #2: Specialist Recruitment & Market Knowledge

Recruiters typically have brilliant knowledge on the recruitment market, and they specialise in recruiting for roles in specific industries. This knowledge can be very trustworthy and useful when they’re doing your recruitment for you. They can also use their experience to help you understand the market more yourself.

Advantage #3: Extended Reach

Not all the best candidates are currently seeking work, these are called “passive candidates”. Recruiters will know who these candidates are, and this provides you with more options of potential workers for your vacant roles. Maybe your next employee is working elsewhere, and they just don’t know yet that your available job is better suited to them. A recruiter will be the persuasive voice that encourages them to make the move.

Advantage #4: Easier Process

Being a manager can be a stressful and busy responsibility, so having the stress of recruitment alleviated from your shoulders could be the best thing you do. Leaving a majority of your recruitment in the hands of a consultant can help you focus on all of your other responsibilities.

These are some of the many benefits of using outsourced recruitment services. If you didn’t love agencies already, I’m sure you do now… So, let’s understand more about how recruit can be more beneficial for hiring managers!

What is Rekkruut?

Rekkruut is an app which is currently under development (and is expected to be released early-2023). We will act as a platform for freelance recruitment consultants to share their services to bring jobseeker and employer together. They will effectively manage the recruitment for hiring managers, where they will interview candidates, promote job vacancies, market job roles, and do any other recruitment associated activities.

Think of us as a digital recruitment agency, where every recruitment consultant on our platform works for themselves and aims to build their own business – where they just use our digitally-accessible software and database rather than using an agency’s resources as an employee.

A hiring manager will get the option to work with multiple recruitment consultants on our platform, where you can review their credibility through their previous reviews. The process begins with uploading a job vacancy on our platform, and a recruiter (or recruiters) will approach the employer to work on filling the role. They will then send CVs over to the hiring manager, where it’s up to the manager to decide whether or not they would like to video interview any of the candidates.

If a hiring manager decides to employ any of the candidates, then the jobseeker will be assigned to the job – where the manager will then approve hours submitted by the hired candidate, and then the candidate will be paid every month.

Rekkruut is Cheap Recruitment

How does Rekkruut do it better?

We believe we’ve found a way to overcome the issues with recruitment agencies, and to advance the benefits of agencies. This hybrid, online strategy uses technology to an advantage, and goes one step further than what any agency can do. Confused? Read on to find out more…

#1 More Affordable

It’s no secret that agencies can be an expensive luxury, and unless you have a contract in place, you don’t even know how much of a margin you’ll be paying on top of the pay rate. Rekkruut is offering a cheaper margin of 15% on top of the candidate’s pay rate, which will be fixed – so you know what you’ll be paying every time!

#2 Improved Consultant-Client Relationships

You may be asking – how can we help improve a client’s relationship with a recruiter? Well, no… we won’t be mediating any 1-on-1 sessions with both parties, but what we will do is set up our platform to encourage a strong business relationship among all parties. We do this through adopting a trusting culture on our platform, reinforced with specific functionalities.

First of all, we will have a review-based system in place where you can look at a recruiter’s previous experience with clients and candidates. We believe this can be an essential tool to know whether or not you’ll want to work with a recruiter.

Additionally, all users on our platform are encouraged to build profiles, which adds a more personal touch when interacting with consultants. This makes connecting with one another more enjoyable – rather than just adopting a “telephone voice” relationship.

Finally, our instant messaging service means you can communicate more fluidly with recruitment consultants. It’s unlikely you’ll be ignored if there are read receipts! Being able to communicate with a consultant as if they were a friend on Facebook can be the first steppingstone to a longer lasting relationship.

#3 Increased Efficiency/Faster Hiring

While agencies can make your recruitment faster, what if we told you we can make it even faster? But how?

Well, first of all instant messaging is so much faster than email. Secondly, you no longer need to call into a busy office and leave a voicemail, because you’ll be communicating directly to the consultant’s smartphone. Thirdly, all meetings and interviews take place via video call – meaning users won’t have to commute to-and-from an office or work site.

Video interviewing also means our consultants can interview with candidates faster than if they were to meet face-to-face. People are naturally more inclined to put 30 minutes aside for a video interview, if it means they save time by not commuting to a meeting place. Also, this promotes a greener mentality to interviewing candidates and meeting with recruiters with zero emissions from travelling!

#4 No Spam/Cold-Calling

This one’s probably our favourite… there’s nothing worse than having your busy day made worse by getting a call from a recruiter asking if you’re interested in looking at some CVs. But, what if we could take this nuisance away with a click of a button? Our option to hide your profile from recruiters is simple, meaning that once you select this option you cannot be contacted!

Don’t worry, your mobile number won’t be showing on your profile, as all calls are facilitated on the platform. This means that when your profile is hidden from view – you’re practically impossible to contact!

When facilitating all calls on the platform, this removes the element of surprise with no caller IDs. When you get a call, the recruiter’s name will show up alongside the Rekkruut Icon – meaning that you know exactly what the call will be regarding! Goodbye, cold-calling.

#5 Easier to Use

Our mission is to make the recruitment process as easy as possible. We do this by using technology to our advantage, where it really is as simple as going on your desktop or smartphone to manage all of your recruitment from one platform. Our simple layout will make it easy for you to post a job, interview candidates, and speak with recruiters on our platform.

Our dashboard feature will allow you to look at all of your hired candidates, your recruitment spend, and any other relevant figures so you can stay on top of the financial side of recruitment. We want to make the functionalities as simple as possible.

#6 Readily Available Right-to-Work Documents

Ever struggled to get a candidate to bring in their correct right-to-work documents? Or have you had to wait a long time for them to obtain them? Well, we want to make sure this is no longer an issue. When a jobseeker is building their profile, it will be compulsory for them to upload the correct documents before their profile is approved. This means that whenever you’re interviewing a candidate, you know that they’re already compliant!

We understand that you may still need to see these documents in person, so you can still request for the candidates to bring these into your offices.
